Clark Jr., James (Jim) C.
Mr. Clark concentrates his practice in the area of general civil litigation with a specialty in the areas of product liability, governmental liability and personal injury. Mr. Clark has extensive experience in the area of product liability. He serves as National Product Liability Counsel for W.C. Bradley Co. and its subsidiaries, Char-Broil, LLC and Lamplight Farms, Inc. Char-Broil is a leading manufacturer of propane gas fueled products, including Barbeque grills. Lamplight Farms is a leading manufacturer of outdoor lighting products and fuels. Mr. Clark has successfully defended numerous products on a nationwide basis. In addition to his litigation experience, Mr. Clark represents manufacturers in product recalls and other matters before the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
In addition to his duties as a product liability attorney, Mr. Clark represents the City of Columbus, Georgia, a City-County Consolidated Governmental body in litigated matters. Mr. Clark defends the interests of the Columbus Georgia Consolidated Government in numerous litigated matters including constitutional issues and employment related matters. Mr. Clark has tried several jury cases on behalf of Columbus, Georgia including cases involving police excessive force, First Amendment, Title VII and governmental immunity issues.
Mr. Clark also serves as a general counsel to the Housing Authority of Columbus, Georgia. He represents the Housing Authority in a multitude of issues including general litigation, landlord/tenant and governmental regulatory issues.
Mr. Clark also handles cases involving serious personal injury. He has handled several large cases involving claims against manufacturers of consumer products. He has obtained substantial settlements on behalf of injured clients including trying cases to verdict in Georgia State and Federal Courts.
Mr. Clark is a member of all State and Superior Courts of the State of Georgia; Georgia Court of Appeals; Georgia Supreme Court, United States District Court of the Middle District of Georgia; United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia; United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana; United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan; United States District Court for the District of Colorado; Columbus and American Bar Associations; State Bar of Georgia, Executive Council, Younger Lawyers Division of State Bar of Georgia; Barrister, American Inns of Court; Georgia Defense Lawyers Association; Defense Research Institute and Propane Gas Defense Association.
Mr. Clark is a native of Columbus, Georgia. Mr. Clark and his wife Katharine have twin sons and a daughter and are members of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Columbus.
After graduating from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.M.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Clark attended the Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctor, cum laude. While at Mercer, he was a member of the Mercer Law Review.
