Alan Rothschild Presents on Charitable Giving at National Estate Planning Conference

Our Shareholder Alan Rothschild participated in a panel discussion on Negotiating and Drafting Successful Charitable Gift Agreements at the 53rd Annual Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning in Orlando, Florida on January 16, 2019.  With over 3,400 attendees, the Heckerling conference is the largest gathering of estate planning professionals in the nation.

Rothschild presented with Donna J. Snyder, Associate General Counsel, University of Michigan, and Carolyn O. Ward of Ropes & Grapy, LLP, Washington, DC.  The session discussed real life examples of how charitable gifts get off track and offered practical suggestions for drafting gift agreements that effectively address future changes in circumstances, donor involvement, naming (and un-naming) rights, and amendments to existing agreements.
